ASY SYAMS (MATAHARI)

1- Demi matahari dan cahaya siangnya.
 By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour;		 وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا
2- Demi bulan apabila dia meng­ikutinya.
 By the Moon as she follows him;		 وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلاَهَا

3- Demi siang apabila menampakkannya.
 By the Day as it shows up (the Sun’s) glory;

 وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلاَّهَا
4- Demi malam apabila menutupinya.
 By the Night as it conceals it;		 وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا

5- Demi langit dan apa yang mendirikannya.
 By the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure;

 وَالسَّمَاء وَمَا بَنَاهَا
6- Demi bumi dan apa yang menghamparkannya.
 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse:		 وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا

7- Demi sesuatu diri dan apa yang menyempurnakannya.
 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it;

 وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا

8- Maka menunjukkanlah Dia ke­padanya akan kejahatannya dan kebaikannya.
 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;-

 فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا
